Since 1946, Unique Expertise and the Very Finest in Psychological Services to Individuals and Organizations
TALENT ASSESSMENT AND DEVELOPMENT
Byron Harless was a true pioneer who helped establish the foundation upon which the specialty of industrial/organizational psychology was built. Originally incorporated in 1946, ours was the first independent psychology practice established in the state of Florida. Following Byron's departure for Knight Ridder, the firm was led for many years by the equally iconic Mel Reid. From our Jacksonville location, we continue in the tradition of Byron and Mel to be one of the leading firms in the Southeast in assessing and developing talent for businesses, non-profit agencies, government entities, and individuals. All of our professional staff are doctoral-level psychologists licensed to practice in the state of Florida.
OCCUPATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY AND FITNESS FOR DUTY
Employers want to provide a safe environment for employees, customers, and the public. Further, employers require a productive, efficient workforce and high morale, and must navigate the sometimes treacherous complexities of laws such as the American's with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). We have considerable expertise in conducting psychological fitness for duty and violence prediction examinations for organizations designed to satisfy the demanding standards of legal scrutiny should that become necessary.
LAW ENFORCEMENT, PUBLIC SAFETY, AND DEPT OF DEFENSE
Law enforcement, public safety, first responder, and private security agencies are faced with complex challenges in identifying, selecting, and deploying those who protect and serve. We are uniquely qualified to assist in meeting these rigorous demands and our firm is recognized as the leader in our geographical area in providing psychological services to such organizations, as well as the Department of Defense. We have a rich history of personal military service and operational psychological services. A former Byron Harless professional, Dr. Theodore Blau, authored what is perhaps the seminal text on psychological services for law enforcement.
Our psychologists are often engaged for forensic psychological examinations, reviews of records and case materials, and consultation with attorneys, and testify at trial in both Federal and State courts.
